This original oil painting shows the 91st Bomb Group’s famed B-17 encounter with one of Germany’s Messerschmitt 163 Rocket Fighters during an historic mission Aug. 16, 1944. “Out House Mouse” is the “Mouse” and the Me 163 was known in the Luftwaffe as the “Flea,” hence the title of this painting, “The Mouse and the Flea.” This artwork is the first original Jerry Crandall aviation oil painting that has been printed and published by Eagle Editions Ltd., and also the first print in the “Wings of Valor” series. he first-edition prints were co-autographed by Lt. W. Reese “Moon” Mullins and are sold out.
The framed version measures 30” x 40” and will make an excellent addition to the collection of anyone passionate about the World Wars or military history.
