EagleParts #42-32 Focke-Wulf 190 D-9
“3 piece” Gun Cowling
Included in this kit: drop in Gun Cowling
Some notes on the D-9 Gun Cowling:
As with most kits of the Focke-Wulf 190 D-9, the 1/32nd Hasegawa, as nice as it is, suffers from an incorrectly shaped gun cowling. The fairing bulges have too much “cleavage” in the middle of the cowling. In reality, this center portion is almost flat and the bulges protrude more to the outside. Additionally the gun troughs are more cylindrical and not funnel-shaped as provided for in the kit. EagleParts #41 and #42 correct this problem in the 1/32 kit. The masters were sculpted using original parts as reference. The early production Focke-Wulf built Dora 9s in the 210 Werknummer block were equipped with a five piece gun cowling. Most Dora 9s were equipped with the more common, later version, “Three Piece” gun cowling which is EagleParts #42.
Depending on your reference, use either EP#41 or EP#42.
