Below are two pictures of Bf 109 G-6, 1/32 Hasegawa, modeled by Jerry Crandall of “Yellow 7” 9./JG 3 “Udet” Die Augen Staffel (Eye Squadron). He notes: “I was very interested in building this model and trying out our decals because of the challenge of the large yellow eyeball over the machine gun bulges. The way I would suggest accomplishing this would be to build the model without the bulges, applying the yellow decal to the correct position, then glue the yellow bulges into position which would require using a small strip of the black outline supplied separately to complete the eyeball with the black outline.”

“My first attempt was to use the decal over the attached machine gun bulges which was a disaster! So I had to cut a mask using our black outline as a guide and then painting the entire area yellow, then I cut the black outline into two pieces (upper and lower section) and applied them over the yellow paint. Not for the faint of heart, but it can be done! I was happy with the way this colorful, almost bizarre, marking turned out.”
